JVC'S FIRST APPLE CAR PLAY RECEIVER IS NOW AVAILABLE.
If you own an older vehicle and have been looking to try out Apple's CarPlay, JVC may have a solution for you. The company has released the KW-V820BT, its aftermarket receiver featuring CarPlay. The receiver, which costs $600, features a 6.8-inch resistive touchscreen, Bluetooth audio, and standalone Spotify and Pandora apps, alongside Apple's OS.
CarPlay will give you the usual slate of iOS apps — Maps, Music, Messages, and Phone — and the upcoming iOS 10 update later this year will add a "Parked Car" feature that will tag your vehicle's location in Maps so you won't forget where you parked. The KW-V820BT is available now through JVC's retail partners including Crutchfield.
